On Wednesday evening, the EMSB Council of Commissioners accepted the independent History Experts Committee report on the revised Secondary III and IV compulsory History of Québec and Canada program.

The revised curriculum raised a number of issues of concern to the English Montreal School Board (EMSB) Council of Commissioners. Given these concerns, in June, the EMSB asked an independent History Experts Committee to review the content of this program as well as the Ministry-approved English-language textbooks.

“I hope that the work that has been done by our school board and the independent committee of experts will help guide the provincial government to make the appropriate changes to the program,” said EMSB Chairman Angela Mancini. “It is important that our students understand and appreciate the diverse and rich history of our province.”
